Keeping a production line going with expedited automotive equipment
In February 2022, an automotive manufacturer asked us to truck 60 boxes of equipment from Wisconsin to South Carolina, where they were urgently needed to prevent a production line from grinding to a halt. When logistical difficulties threatened to delay the cargo’s transit time, we had to react instantly and adapt our solution to ensure the time-critical consignment made it in time.
Our Solution
Route: Whitewater > Duncan
Vehicle: 53ft dry van
Our specialist team quickly reached out to trusted asset-based trucking providers to source a dry van with immediate availability to truck the goods.
When unexpected weather conditions threatened to delay the 830-mile journey, we re-routed the truck to an airport in Chicago and arranged for onboard couriers to accompany 20 of the boxes on a direct domestic flight to South Carolina. Expediting some of the cargo in this way preserved the client’s production line without blowing their budget, while the rest of the consignment continued by road.
