Ship crew change, Norway
During the Covid-19 pandemic, we were asked by a shipping operator who hadn’t chartered before to help fly 25 crew-members from France to a ship in Norway before returning with the previous crew. With timings tight, we sprung into action to overcome several logistical challenges and ensure both flights ran smoothly and on time.
OUR SOLUTION
Route: Lille > Stavanger > Paris
Aircraft: Embraer 145
The aircraft needed to depart from Lille, where the outgoing crew was quarantining together, before flying the returning staff back to Paris where they could catch connecting transport to their home cities. We also had to allow for a layover in Norway so that the incoming and outgoing crews could switch over, before arriving back in France with enough time for the passengers to catch their connecting trains and flights home from Paris.
Our expert team quickly sourced two possible aircraft for the job – a Beechcraft and a faster but more expensive Embraer 145, which the client preferred. We ensured the necessary Covid-19 safety measures were followed onboard the aircraft and liaised with the airline to change the handler at Stavanger, as they were based in the private terminal 10 minutes from the main terminal where the passengers were arriving/departing.
